Adding CIMA to a qualification you already hold can enhance your employability across sectors and borders.

Management accountant gateway route

If you fit any of the criteria for the professional bodies below, you may be eligible for advanced entry to CIMA through the management accountant gateway route:

• ICWAI (Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India) members and passed finalists 
• ICMAP (Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan) members 
• ICMAB (Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh) members and passed finalists.

Professional gateway route 

If you fit any of the criteria for the professional bodies below, you may be eligible for advanced entry to CIMA through the professional gateway route .

• IFAC bodies members and passed finalists.

All exemptions awarded to students via the above mentioned accelerated entry routes into CIMA are free.

Other professional qualifications

If you hold a qualification with another professional body on our CIMA accredited programmes' database, you may be eligible for exemptions from some exams in the certificate in business accounting and the professional qualification.

If your qualification is not on our database, you start CIMA by studying the certificate in business accounting. You then progress to the professional qualification.
