Intermediate awards

There are two intermediate awards students can receive whilst studying for the CIMA 2010 professional qualification: the CIMA diploma in management accounting and the CIMA advanced diploma in management accounting.

The CIMA diploma in management accounting is gained by passing the operational level of the professional qualification, and the CIMA advanced diploma in management accounting by passing management level. If you completed the operational and management levels during the same exam session, you will receive the CIMA advanced diploma in management accounting.

The CIMA diploma in management accounting and advanced diploma in management accounting certificates are sent out four times a year (following the March, May, September and November examinations), and can be expected approximately six weeks after the release of the exam results.

Please note that you must have sat at least one of a level's examinations to qualify for the certificate for that level: if the level was completed wholly by exemptions you are not entitled to the document.

Receiving your certificate

Once you have passed your last exam for the certificate you are attempting to gain, we will send your certificate. You should receive it within four to six weeks.

If you do not receive your certificate within six months, please contact us immediately and we will send you a duplicate.

If you do not receive your certificate and do not contact us within six months, you will be charged £20 for a duplicate.

Please send all requests for duplicates to CIMA contact:
