FEE displays commitment to CSR reporting

The European Federation of Accountants (FEE) has called for the European Commission's Multi-stakeholder Forum to recognise Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reporting at a similar level to financial reporting.

In a new publication entitled "Call for action: assurance for sustainability", the FEE makes several recommendations for increasing confidence in CSR reporting. Commenting on the launch of the new publication, Lars-Olle Larsson, chairman of the FEE sustainability Assurance Group, claimed that "CSR reporting without credible assurance is rightly seen as little more than advertising", and highlighted the FEE's belief that "credible assurance is the key to increasing confidence in CSR reporting in the eyes of the world's capital markets.
