2006 UK graduates impacted by lecturers' industrial action - CIMA position

06 June 2006 060606

06 June 2006

CIMA appreciates that some new UK graduates may have been impacted by the lecturers’ industrial action and may have graduated under exceptional circumstances, for example with incomplete transcripts or without evidence that they have passed some final year examinations.  If you have been affected and you wish to register as a CIMA student please read the following information.

CIMA’s aim is to support employers in their graduate recruitment and to support new CIMA students as they assume their first posts without adversely impacting CIMA’s quality processes.

Graduates can go online and register as a CIMA student even if they are awaiting their degree certificate or transcript.  As long as CIMA students provide some evidence that they have completed their degree they will be able to progress through CIMA unhindered.  This will be possible because CIMA will confirm each student’s position, particularly in terms of exemptions, as soon as they have registered and sent in evidence of completion.  Some exemptions may need to be deferred until transcript(s) are provided, but this will not prevent any graduates from sitting CIMA examinations this year and progressing through the CIMA qualification.

Graduates of higher education institutions outside of the UK will not be affected by this statement
