PRINCE2® re-registration course

This course will enable you to retain your PRINCE2® practitioner qualification, update your knowledge and demonstrate your commitment to continuing professional development.

The PRINCE2® examination board has determined that all PRINCE2® practitioners should be reregistered within three to five years of their original certification.

This course has been designed for PRINCE2® practitioners who want to renew their qualification and retain their registered practitioner status. It will provide a refresher of PRINCE2® including updates on all new elements introduced in 2009. This is particularly important following the recent upgrading of the PRINCE2® manual and its greater focus on business cases and the management of risk.

This course is suitable for PRINCE2® practitioners who passed their exam between three to five years ago and need to reregister to renew their qualification.

• competence in describing and applying all the PRINCE2® project processes and principles and tailoring each to a specific project
• learn how to identify and control risks throughout the project
• validation of an industry recognised qualification that acknowledges your expertise as a project manager for a further five years
• updates on all the new elements in PRINCE2® introduced in 2009.

This PRINCE2® course is delivered by Insights, an accredited training organisation for PRINCE2®.

• PRINCE2® principles: continued business justification; learn from experience; defined roles and responsibilities; manage by stages; manage by exception; focus on products and tailor to suit the needs of the project environment
• PRINCE2® processes: starting up a project; initiating a project; directing a project; controlling a stage; managing product delivery; managing a stage boundary; closing a project
• PRINCE2® themes: business case; organisation; progress; quality, risk and plans
• practitioner examination techniques.

Examination details

The PRINCE2® practitioner re-registration examination comprises a one hour examination set at the same standard as the practitioner examination. Please note that the APM require every candidate's identity to be verified by the examination invigilator. You may be required to produce some photographic identification before being allowed to take the exam.

All delegates attending the PRINCE2® programmes will receive:

• pre-read materials (distributed two weeks before the course)
• an official PRINCE2® 2009 textbook
• relevant workbooks and handouts
• relevant assessments.

This course provides 12 CPD hours for non-CIMA members. Run by Reed Learning, it is endorsed by CIMA as suitable for members and their colleagues.

Eligible delegates must have previously passed the PRINCE2® exam between three to five years ago. Some experience in the use of and application of PRINCE2® is required.
